Is a fiscal receipt needed for a refund? | MULENPAY

Yes. Under 54-FZ a refund is the same kind of operation as a sale: it gets its own receipt marked as a return. With cloud fiscalisation the receipt is created automatically along with the refund itself.

How it works

  • You issue a refund in the dashboard — full or partial.
  • A receipt for the refunded amount is generated with the matching settlement type.
  • The buyer receives it the same way as the purchase receipt.

What to keep in mind

  • A partial refund gets a receipt for the returned part, not for the whole order.
  • Cancelling before capture is not a refund: there was no operation, so no return receipt.
  • The fee on a processed payment and the refunded amount are different figures.

What a fiscal receipt must contain is covered separately.
