A partial refund is issued from the dashboard: you set the amount and it goes back to the buyer the same way they paid. A separate fiscal receipt is generated for the returned part, while the rest of the amount stays with the merchant.
When it fits
- Part of the order was not fulfilled: an item was out of stock or a service was incomplete.
- The buyer declined one item out of several.
- The final amount turned out lower — delivery cost changed, for example.
What to keep in mind
- The receipt covers the returned part, not the whole order.
- A refund reduces the next payout rather than coming from a separate account.
- If the money is not captured yet, cancelling is simpler and cheaper than refunding.
Whether the fee comes back on a refund is covered separately.
