How does a static QR code differ from a dynamic one? | MULENPAY

A static QR code is printed once and carries no amount — the buyer enters it themselves. A dynamic one is generated for a specific order with the amount and purpose already filled in, leaving the buyer only to confirm.

When each fits

  • Static — for a point of sale where the amount differs every time and the seller states it.
  • Dynamic — when the order already exists: less room for an error in the amount.
  • Showrooms and field sales usually use both: a code at the desk and a link per order.

What to keep in mind

  • With a static code, verify the amount: the buyer may enter the wrong figure.
  • A dynamic code can simply be sent as a link — scanning is optional.
  • Both need internet access on the buyer side, not the seller side.

How to accept QR payments is on the QR payments page.
